Announcing the

19th International Festival of Women Composers

March 10-17, 2015

Join us in beautiful Gainesville in March 2015 - during Women's History Month - at a time when spring is in full swing in northern Florida.

 

Call for Participation

The purpose of the 19th International Festival of Women Composers is to be an international crossroads for networking among women composers and their advocates.

The only requirement for the content of your proposal is that the music you wish to perform or discuss has to be composed by a woman.

If you are interested in contributing to the Festival please go to the Contact page and submit the following information to the Festival Founder and Creative Creator Dr. Miriam Zach:


  1. a score

  2. audio CD or link to online version of the piece

  3. program notes including a one-paragraph biography

  4. length of the work

  5. any required translations

  6. technical requirements (i.e. performer(s) and equipment)

  7. accompanied by a cover page stating your name, address, institution (if applicable), phone number, and email address; or send the information via email with attachments (.rtf, .pdf, or .doc)


We also welcome the submission of papers and round-table discussions which may focus on theory, research, or practice developed from a wide spectrum of topics in women's studies in music.

All compositions, accompanying information, and proposals for presentations are to be submitted by January 24, 2015.
